Structured pre-event analysis

One company, one event, eleven fixed sections. The structure is the point: it is what makes the analysis repeatable and comparable rather than a fresh opinion each time.

Anatomy

What a company analysis contains

  1. Purpose

What this analysis is for and what question it is trying to settle.

  2. Why this event matters

What is genuinely at stake at this specific filing or call.

  3. Baseline context

Where the company stands going in, in figures rather than adjectives.

  4. What has to go right

The concrete conditions the bull case depends on.

  5. Bull, base, and bear

Three paths with thresholds attached, so each one is falsifiable.

  6. Management credibility

What was promised previously and whether it was delivered.

  7. Release checklist

The specific lines to read first when the document lands.

  8. Framing

How to hold the result without overreacting to a single quarter.

  9. What the filing showed

The figures the filing reported, beside the thresholds the analysis named.

  10. Thesis update

What the result changes, including when the answer is nothing.

  11. Cadence notes

What to carry forward to the next event for this company.

Real output

Published examples

Genuine analysis, published as produced and not edited afterwards. Each one was written before its company reported, and carries both dates. These demonstrate analytical method, not predictive accuracy. Once the filing lands, the figures it reported are recorded beside the thresholds the analysis named. No verdict, scenario winner or score is shown — what a number means beside a range is the reader’s judgment to make, not ours to assert.

Why the template does not flex

When a template is optional, the sections that get dropped are the uncomfortable ones — management credibility, and what would falsify the case. Those are precisely the sections worth reading, so the structure is fixed and every company analysis carries all eleven.

It also makes analyses comparable to each other. Two analyses of different companies answer the same questions in the same order, which is what lets you weigh them against one another instead of against how persuasively each was written.
